Hypnotherapy

Ok, so you want to stop smoking, grinding your teeth, biting your nails, or some other annoying habit? Maybe youre worried about a forthcoming driving test, or dental appointment? Perhaps you would give anything to be able to get on that plane and just relax? Do you need to improve your sports performance, or maybe you would just like to learn how to relax and reduce your stress levels?

There is a host of issues that Hypnotherapy can help you with, even some surprising ones. It simply requires you to pick up the phone and call me now, and make an appointment.

Now to the questions and answers bit...

What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a defocused mental state, a state of mind that occurs naturally several times daily to us all without us thinking about it.

What does being hypnotised feel like?
You know that relaxed feeling you have when you daydream in front of the TV. Well, thats how hypnosis feels.

How does it work?
A Hypnotherapist can guide you gently into that drowsy state of complete relaxation and then whilst communicating with your unconscious mind and memories stored there, give you instructions that are beneficial to you.

The conscious mind is used to focus on day-to-day activities and decision making. Without stimulus the conscious mind can drift towards sleep, which is why the Hypnotherapist will ask you to close your eyes and relax.

Will I know whats happening, will I be in control, and will I be
able to wake up?

Yes, you are in control at all times, and you will hear the Hypnotherapist at all times. Your subconscious mind will reject any unwanted suggestions, returning you to a conscious state.

Can I be made to do embarrassing things after leaving the session?
Absolutely not. It would be ethically wrong. Hypnotherapy is a serious process of self-improvement, not entertainment.

If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to ask when you contact me for your appointment.
